CALLY

NZCH Valkrista Maid Marion

Cally (Callisto) was our first Swedish Vallhund and arrived in Wellington on Christmas Eve 2005 as a present for Greg. She won our hearts immediately and is a wonderful, intelligent and loving friend. Initially we bought Cally as a pet but after spending time with her we decided it would be great to have a litter by her. Rose, of Valkrista Kennels who had bred Cally was happy for us to use her dog, Wallaby - Aus & NZ Champion Leesway Man About Town

Cally has had 4 litters –

2006 - 7 pups

2008 – 8 pups

2009 – 1 pup

2011 - 7 pups

The first litter she delivered all by herself while we slept! (Picture Opposite). She is a fantastic mum and has coped well with large litters!

Cally is also very good at obedience work winning Elementary 2 at her first major Obedience Competition in May 09, in Wellington with 95% so will now go on to compete in the Special Beginners Class! Watching her listening for the commands you can tell that she is really enjoying herself and she has a wonderful rapport with Greg who owns and trains her.

In 2010 we started showing Cally at Conformance Shows & she is now an NZ Champion. Best of all she took out Best of Breed at the NZ Nationals in 2010 & was a Working Dog Group Finalist.

BOBBIE

NZCH Torvall Cally's Litten Flicka

Bobbie was born on the 4th Sept 2009. She was the only pup in the litter and has the most wonderful nature - she is very cuddly, loves being social & is not at all concerned about bigger dogs - just loves to make friends with them :)

At her first show she won Baby Puppy of Group and has gone on to become a NZ Champion & recently earned her Bronze Certificate. We are planning to breed from her later in 2011.

JACK

Vallarity Cracker Jack

This wee boy has recently joined our pack. He is a fantastic mixture of cute n cuddly and naughty puppy at present! Hard to stay mad at him for long :) Even if he has chewed the handbrake in the car!!

Jack made his debut into the show ring on the 2nd & 3rd of April. At his 1st show he took out Best of Breed ahead of his dad, Dexter & then got Baby Puppy of Group. In 2 more shows that weekend he also got Baby Puppy of Group & also Reserve of Breed. The following weekend at Cambridge he was reserve of breed in the 1st show & then Best of Breed in the 2nd show ahead of his dad & his litter mate, DJ. Comments from most of the judges at these shows have been very favourable.

SIRIUS

Valkrista Byron Bilby

We bought Sirius as a playmate for Cally when she was a year old and before we decided to become breeders. As they had the same sire we had Sirius neutered. He has a very gentle nature & is a great ambassador for the breed and helped raise the first litter once they were mobile. Sirius has a bob tail :)

JEDI

Vallhund Feline Domesticus

Not to be forgotten is Jed who thinks he’s a Swedish Vallhund & is colour coordinated with them! He was not quite a year old when our second litter was born & he tolerated them climbing all over him – when he had had enough he would jump over the top of them and find a high spot out of reach to sit & watch them.
